FOR A BETTER DAY FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES KATRINA CHASE AS NEW DIRECTOR OF RECOVERY AND COMMUNITY WELLNESS

Broward and Palm Beach County - May 16, 2025

The For A Better Day Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Katrina Chase as its new Director of Recovery and Community Wellness. This powerful leadership role reflects not only Katrina’s decades-long dedication to trauma-informed care and addiction recovery, but also her own extraordinary journey of resilience, advocacy, and hope.

Katrina Chase brings a deeply personal connection to the work. A survivor of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Katrina began using substances at a very early age to escape trauma no child should endure. Her youth and early adulthood were marked by addiction, homelessness, systemic discrimination, and despair. She faced stigma and judgment from every angle but refused to be defined by her pain. Instead, Katrina transformed it.

With incredible strength, she rose above her circumstances to become a fierce advocate and caregiver to others. She is the Founder and CEO of Roots to Recovery, an organization dedicated to supporting women and mothers in recovery by providing safe housing, care coordination, peer support, therapeutic groups, and community reintegration services. Her work has helped countless women rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

As Director of Recovery and Community Wellness at For A Better Day, Katrina will lead key initiatives that focus on addiction awareness, trauma prevention, crisis response, and expanding access to community-based recovery services.

Her leadership is grounded in compassion, lived experience, and a firm belief that every person deserves a second chance.

“I’ve learned more from Katrina than I ever thought possible,” said Dr. Leslie Bravo, CEO and Founder of For A Better Day. “She has taught me what it means to walk beside someone in their darkest hour. When there are no resources, Katrina finds a way. When someone is on the edge, Katrina is the one on the phone saving lives.

She is not just a survivor - she’s a force.”

Katrina has been instrumental in preventing countless overdoses and suicide crises through her tireless 24/7 work in the community. Her leadership is a lifeline for those who often feel forgotten.

“We are not here to judge - we are here to help,” Katrina says. “My mission is simple: to meet people where they are and remind them they’re not alone. Healing is possible.”

The For A Better Day Foundation invites the community, partners, and advocates across the country to join in celebrating Katrina Chase’s new role and continued legacy of service.
